About Me
I like taking photos. Actually, I love taking photos. Since I first studied photography, way back in the days of film, when each press of the shutter was chosen carefully and hours were spent in the darkroom watching the magical, almost alchemical process of images appearing from nowhere, I’ve loved the process of capturing moments in time with my camera.
I know many photographers classify themselves as “wedding photographers”, “portrait photographers” or “commercial photographers”, and sometimes I envy them their niche. Personally, I just love taking photos and, over the years, I’ve captured many different and diverse subjects with my camera; some tragic, some ecstatic, some exciting, others seemingly mundane. Whether I’m hired to photograph a birth, death (I was a ‘remembrance photographer’ for NILMDTS) or marriage, cover an event or photograph a range of products, my goal is always the same - to get the best possible image for my client and never settle for “good enough”. On the rare occasions I’m not taking photos, I’ll probably have my nose in a book, headphones on and a cup of tea in hand.
For the gear-heads among you I mainly use Canon gear, including:
